Impulse, healthcare innovation meetings

The reConnect Institute was delighted to participate in Impulse, a unique event dedicated to industrial partnerships and promoting innovation in healthcare in the Île-de-France region.

Organized by the Île-de-France Region in partnership with Medicen, the event brought together nearly 490 participants, including representatives from companies, bioclusters, and IHUs, all key players in the Île-de-France medical research and innovation ecosystem.

Alongside us in the IHUs village were the Leukemia Institute, Women's Cancer Institute, PRISM, Brain Institute, Robert Debré Institute for Child Brain Research, SEPSIS, Imagine, ICAN, and FOReSIGHT, as well as the Genother, PSCC, and Brain&Mind bioclusters.

Nicolas Le Goff, Director of Innovation at the reConnect Institute, presented the institute and exchanged ideas with more than twenty companies from different backgrounds during B2B meetings and spontaneous discussions on site. Two flagship projects were highlighted to stimulate new industrial partnerships and accelerate innovation in the field of hearing and communication disorders:

  • CoreMed: bringing the laboratory into everyday life,

  • the creation of cohorts.

Discussions also focused on the development of innovative conversational agents and audio tests, research on tinnitus, the links between hearing disorders, autism, and cognition, as well as approaches to reducing neurodegenerative diseases.

Yasmine Belkaid, Director General ofInstitut Pasteur, the foundation that houses the reConnect Institute, came to greet the teams at the Institute's stand and discuss the topics addressed during the day. During a round table discussion with Professor Eric Vivier, she highlighted the strength of IHUs and emphasized their unique feature: the close relationship between researchers, clinicians, and the people concerned, working together on ambitious translational research. She also reiterated the importance of investing in fundamental research for tomorrow's innovation.

The President of the region, Valérie Pécresse, emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation between IHU, the driving force behind tomorrow's innovation. This involves, in particular, encouraging public-private partnerships.
