The reConnect Institute and Sound Week have strengthened their collaboration by signing a partnership agreement to symbolize their shared goal of improving knowledge about sound and bringing together stakeholders around this cause. This partnership reflects a shared vision and aims to combine the reConnect Institute’s scientific and medical expertise with the mission of raising awareness about the sound environment. The reConnect Institute is an official partner of the 23rd edition of UNESCO’s Sound Week, which begins on January 19, 2026. One of the goals of this edition is to raise awareness about the importance of the quality of our sound environment and to encourage musical expression, which fosters personal development, collective fulfillment, and the strengthening of social bonds.
The opening night of the 2026 edition will take place on Monday, January 19, 2026, and will preview the upcoming program.
The reConnect Institute will be represented at two events—we hope to see many of you there:
On Tuesday, January 20, during the event dedicated to hearing health, to highlight advances in research and medicine as well as technological innovations in this field.
Several experts from the institute will be participating throughout the day, including Yann Nguyen, Charlotte Hautefort, Elisabeth Mamelle, Luc Arnal, Keith Doelling, Arnaud Attyé, Alain Londéro, Arnaud Coez, Paul Avan, and Christine Petit.
They will speak alongside representatives from the Ear Clinic, also a partner of Sound Week and the reConnect Institute.

This year, Sound Week is launching “All in Harmony: The Orchestras Weekend.” Orchestras from all over France are invited to perform in order to raise awareness of their work on a national level and encourage as many people as possible to discover the joy of playing an instrument.
On Sunday, January 25, starting at 7 p.m., an evening event featuring the special participation of scientists from the reConnect Institute, including Séverine Samson and Boris Gourévitch. Admission is free (reservations required) to attend a lecture blending art and science, as well as a concert by Harmonie la Renaissance.
